so far so good

Well things are going really well over here at potty training headquarters.  I hope I haven't lost count - I believe this is an accurate update:

It is an amazing thing to me that he has not peed on the floor since July 10th.  6 days now!  Before this training began, I was having to mop up puddles at least once a day if not more.  This is really incredible.

Costello and I are both happier now - when I get home every day I praise him for not making a mess.  Now that I spend less time being irritated with him he gets more affection and I think that in turn causes him to be better behaved.

Not to say that everything is perfect.  Yesterday I came home to find that the arm warmers I must have left out somewhere had been dragged around the living room and modified with more thumb holes in case I start sprouting new appendages all over my forearms (thanks Costello). 

I wonder what would happen with the next poo were I to take the floor box away entirely... scary thought.  Not sure I'm ready to try that just yet, but maybe at the end of week2.
